I know some people are super hyped about the groundhog every year, but my pre-spring highlight is always the autumn/winter ready-to-wear. For me, a fresh, loaded scroll on Vogue Runway is basically the equivalent of, like, March Madness or The Super Bowl. Plus, now that I’m back to my blogging roots with this newsletter, I get to cosplay fashion editor!
These entries are always more visual Substacks, so let’s just dive right in.
I tend to love Giambattista Valli—especially on a red carpet—but sometimes the shows are a little hit or miss for me as far as holistic collections. That said, I loved some of the details from this show:
Loved the Givenchy callback and this Isabel Marant look is so good! They’re still pushing those boots I don’t love, but the jacket and skirt are a vibe:
I could be a Schiaparelli/Daniel Roseberry fan-Substack and nobody would know the difference. Some of my favorites (though, let’s be real, no misses):
The Chloe details, per usual! I’m not yet 100% bought in on the return of boho, and there were plenty of looks I didn’t care for in this collection, but I think Chloe does a good job of making it current and aspirational overall:
I always want to like Balmain, but I think for the last decade, there have been collections that have lacked the house DNA for me. This is not one of them, though. I loved this show so much, it’s one of my favorites from PFW!
Tom Ford giving Tom Ford, we love:
All right, we’re rooting for Julian Klausner at Dries Van Noten. Not my favorite of their collections by far, but some nice patterns, a cohesive show, and a belt that holds its own:
Dior has historically been my favorite house, but Maria Grazia Chiuri and I are simply not aligned. There were three looks I loved from this collection, though! More than usual, so that’s a win!
Honestly have been loving Dolce & Gabbana lately! These embellishments are so fun and glamorous and I love the sheer looks.
Not obsessed with this Prada collection, but some details did catch my eye—love the piping and cute little bows!
Max Mara is giving girl boss, as always, and this collection’s silhouettes are great:
Brunello Cucinelli! Love these tones. There are some looks in this collection that scream 2008 Serena van der Woodsen (derogatory) but overall these textures and oversized fits are super current and interesting:
FENDI. So many things I wanted to include. Maybe the only blue look that I loved this season? Or at least one of the only. I don’t quite understand the little Fendi Cabbage Patch dolls that they’re clipping to the bags but they’re kind of silly and fun, I guess?
Closing out with McQueen! I saw a Tweet where someone said it feels like McQueen, which is so nebulous but also kind of what I thought, as well. The silhouettes and fabrics are great, and as always, love the theatrical elements.
I decided I to have to give the Valentino show its own Substack, so make sure you subscribe! Already very excited to dive into Alessandro Michele’s latest. ✨
